Happy Teachers Day
A teacher is a friend, philosopher, and guide who holds our hand, opens
our mind, and touches our heart. The contribution of a teacher cannot be
ignored at all. In many countries across the world, teacher's day is a special
day where teachers of schools, colleges, and universities are honoured
specially. The universally accepted World Teacher's Day is 5th October. In
India, the Teacher's Day is celebrated on 5th September and this tradition
started from 1962. This is the when Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born. He
was a philosopher, scholar, teacher, and politician and his dedicated work
towards education made his birthday an important day in the history of India.
We remember the great work of this exemplary person on this day.
Actually, this man, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a friendly
teacher and he was popular among his students for the example he always set in
front of them. So, one day his students and friends requested him to allow them
to celebrate his birthday in a lavish way. In return he said that it would be
his pride and honour if they celebrate his birthday in respect of all teachers.
And since then this day 5th September is celebrated as Teacher's Day.
Teacher’s Day is celebrated to show gratitude and acknowledge the role of
the teachers in our life. A teacher plays a pivotal role in moulding
personality of a person. Though in the era of technology, paradigm has been
shifted to digital learning but that cannot undermine the importance of
teachers in our life.
All that is available on the internet is not correct. It is unable to make
a person think rationally. Only a critical mind can create a rational soul. A
Good teacher has blessed with a power to create a mind has the ability to think
critically, analyse, learn the capability of distinguishing between right and
wrong and can lead a person to attain ethical enlightenment.
On this day Indian society reminds and preaches the importance
of Teachers as following:
A. Students are the backbone of the country. Students of today
are citizen of tomorrow. To convert a student to a responsible citizen, the
teacher has immense contribution.
B. Teachers teach their students who in turn become the
responsible pillars of the society like Teacher, doctor, engineer,
agriculturist etc.
C. Teachers act as one of the best motivators to their students
towards blooming full.
D. As a counsellor role of the Teacher is significantly more
purpose serving than others.
E. Only teachers can possibly be able to get back a student from
addiction may be it a drug or digital to normal state.
As the objective of the
nation is to have an improved and better society - it is teacher who can let
Nation to achieve it.
If
a country is to be corruption free and become a nation of beautiful minds, I
strongly feel there are three key societal members who can make a difference.
They are the father, the mother and the teacher. Dr. A. P.
J. Abdul Kalam
Teachers help us
to become high-quality professionals. Only professionally qualified people
produce quality services and products. Which play the huge role in the economic
development of the country.
There are often
you see the bad customer support, cheap quality products, dishonesty cases with
customers. These are really very bad people. Even politicians, movie stars
support these people. We can’t change these people today. But we can lead and
guide coming generation on the right path.
The right path
is where customers are not cheated. Where good products are endorsed by good
people. It’s tough even after giving a certificate of honesty. We are
influenced by some group of people to the wrong direction.
We need to
understand that what is good for us along with society. Never make your
decision inspired by politically people, never make decision-based on news
channel or politically inspired dialogues.
We need to
analyze facts and figures before taking a decision even before giving votes.
Also, our election commission or authorities also need to test political
leaders before giving them the ticket or authority to fight the election. It’s
ok that I don’t have enough knowledge yet about such things. But today we all
need good people in our government, businesses and in jobs. These people are
not coming from another planet. All are coming from schools and colleges after
taking degrees. Degrees are not a guarantee that someone is educated and know
better than without degree people. Yes, education matter. But I think only
practical education can develop the country.
